L’Atzavara, a bar and restaurant in Atzeneta del Maestrat.

(Before)
L’Atzavara was a new restaurant, with no name, no visual identity and no website. It needed to get itself known in an inland area, where word of mouth and Google Maps decide where people go to eat.
(During)
The project began with the name and the visual identity, a service we no longer offer, and ended with the website. We designed it to show the food, the place and how to get there, with real photographs of the premises and the dishes.
(After)
A simple website, consistent with the restaurant, that supports its Google Business Profile and answers what people look for when deciding where to eat.

What matters in a restaurant website

People deciding where to eat want to know quickly what kind of food it is, what the place is like and how to get there. The website had to answer that directly, and on mobile.

Decisions

  • In Valencian, the language of the restaurant and of its area.
  • Booking, one tap away from the home page.
  • The menu and its days: the restaurant shows on the website which nights it is available, so that nobody turns up on the wrong night.
  • Real photographs of the premises and the dishes, no stock photos.
  • Consistency with the Google Business Profile, which for a restaurant is often the first point of contact. We explain how to work on it in our guide on how to appear on Google Maps.
  • Built in Framer, easy to maintain, so the restaurant can update it itself without depending on anyone.

Content only this restaurant can tell

The website has a blog with what an outsider looks for when planning a visit: Valencian esmorzars (mid-morning breakfasts), the truffle menu or the special opening hours during the village festivities. It is local, original content that nobody else can write: exactly what Google’s guide to helpful content is looking for when it asks whether a page provides original information.
